According to the school children, because of the lack of a library in the school and the community, they have limited access to reading books and other learning materials.

Master Eugene Osei Asiedu, the School Prefect made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Hwidiem after ActionAid Ghana, in collaboration with the Center for Maternal Health and Community Empowerment, an NGO working to promote education in the area, had an interaction with pupils of the school.

About 150 school children drawn from Ampenemadi JHS, Nkrankrom Methodist JHS, Nkrankrom D/A JHS, Hwidiem JHS and Amanfrom JHS.

It was aimed at helping to expose the participants to various career opprotunities and also help them to unearth and nurture their talents.

Master Asiedu indicated many of his colleagues had the desire to read and learn hard to achieve academic excellence, but because there was no library in the community, their hopes and aspirations remained a mirage.

He however appealed to NGOs and the Ghana Education Service to construct a library and an ICT center for the community.
