Amb. Ocquaye Raps JAK’s Critics

Prof. Mike Ocquaye, ambassador- designate to Libya, has stated that it is disheartening for people to say that President J. A. Kufuor was travelling too much.

He contended that the HIPC conditions created by the NDC has solutions overseas.

Speaking at the inauguration and induction ceremony of officers of the Tema East NPP women’s wing held at the Akodzo school park last Saturday, he stated that our balance of trade deficit, adverse balance of payment and inequity in trade system with overseas counterparts are all foreign-related which the President wants to correct.

“The capital infusion must come from abroad and the world today is summitry and most meetings are held at the summit level and the President should be there.”

He urged members of the women’s wing to unite so that they can serve the nation better, saying “don’t look at individuals, work as a team and you will achieve your vision.”

The MP for Tema East, Hon. Ishmael Ashitey stated that the NPP has been able to stabilize the cedi to bring down inflation as a first step and the next stage is to put money into the pocket of the ordinary Ghanaian, adding “we are focused and know what we are doing and by this time next year, Ghanaians would have known where we are going.”

Mr. Baffour Anim-Addo, Constituency Chairman, inducted the eight-member executive into office with Doris Mensah as chairperson, Patience Agbenu, first-vice and Mary Doudorful, second vice-chairperson. Harriet Adjetey, third vice, Akyaa Baidoo, secretary, Georgina Rockson, assistant-secretary, Lydia Ablor, treasurer and Ellen Dogbe, financial secretary.
