Amasaman JSS Wins UN Quiz

Amasaman Junior Secondary School on Monday came first with 53 points in a quiz competition on the United Nations Convention on the Right of Children for selected Junior Secondary Schools in the Ga District.

The GAEC Junior School came second with 51 points followed by New Achimota with 39 points, while Atomic Hills took the fourth position with 33 points.

Mrs Naana Amoah, Amasaman District Circuit Supervisor of Education told parents that loving their children is not enough; they must be positive in disciplining them.

Mrs Amoah later congratulated Amasaman School for a good work done and wished the other schools better luck next time and thanked the Action Aid, Library Board, Book Trust, Ghana National Commission on Children and Ga District Assembly who sponsored the competition and appealed to other organizations for assistance.

Mr Wilson Addae-Boateng, Co-ordinator of Schools Programmes of Amasaman District appealed to the Ga District Assembly to use one per cent of the District Common Fund, including one vehicle and other logistics to extend their activities to the hinterland.

Prizes of books and certificates were presented to all the schools that participated in the competition.
