Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), April 10, GNA- The Amansie-West District Assembly had since 2001 constructed 85 classroom blocks and 27 teachers’ quarters in a bid to support educational development in the district. Mr Ben Kwaakye Adeefe, District Chief Executive (DCE), who disclosed this, said the Assembly had also supported 380 pupil teachers to benefit from the Untrained Teacher Trainees Diploma in Basic Education (UTTDBE) programme. Besides, he said, 85 teachers had been trained by the Assembly and were now teaching in the various communities in the district. Mr Adeefe was speaking at the second Speech and Prize-Giving Day of the Manso-Nkwanta Methodist Primary and Junior High School at Manso-Nkwanta. The DCE charged teachers to adhere to the code of ethics of the teaching profession in their endeavours to retain their image. Mr Kofi Kra Mensah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Amansie-West, who donated a cash of GH¢2000 to the school for the purchase of a computer and accessories, challenged the pupils and students to be serious with their books to enhance their career development. Mr Simon Kyei, Headmaster of the school, commended the teaching staff for their commitment to duty which, he said, had resulted in the improved performance of the school at the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) over the years.
