Amanano bank supports school project with 10 million cedis

Nyinahin (Ash), Aug 04, GNA – The Amanano Rural Bank at Nyinahin in the Atwima-Mponua District has donated building materials worth 10 million cedis to support a four-classroom project being undertaken by the local Catholic Secondary School.

The materials included 50 bags of cement, 825 cement blocks, five trips of sand and stones, eight window frames and four doorframes. The school project estimated at 300 million cedis is at the foundation level.

Mr Yahaya Yakubu, the Manager of the bank, said the donation formed part of the bank’s social responsibility programmes. He said plans were advanced to assist the Integrated Community Centre for Employable Skills (ICCES) at Otaakrom to refurbish its carpentry workshop.

Mr Anthony William Mensah, the Headmaster of the school, expressed gratitude to the bank and said, “We are going to ensure that the items are put into good use and you see, that is why they are at the site”. Mr Mensah said the bank’s donation would help to improve infrastructure in the school and appealed to other organisations and individuals to assist.

“We have a student population of 600 and the completion of this block of four classrooms would help us to raise the school’s enrolment”, he said.
