AMA to sanitise Accra beaches

Accra, April 7, GNA – The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) on Thursday reminded persons rearing pigs and other animals along the beaches to relocate to more convenient locations within two weeks from April 1 2005.

A statement signed by Mr Stanley Adjiri Blankson, Metropolitan Chief Executive, said the area covered the stretch of land from Nungua to Chorkor.

He said the Metropolitan Assembly would remove all such structures after April 14, 2005 and the owners would bear the cost of removal in line with the provisions of the Assembly’s byelaws. Mr Adjiri Blankson urged all concerned to comply accordingly and help make the environment of the Metropolis healthier for it’s inhabitants.
