AMA to Eject Hawkers

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has noted that in spite of persistent warnings, some traders remain adamant and continue to sell their wares on pavements and on the streets of the Central Business District. AMA said the situation is creating a lot of congestion and inconvenience in the city.

Traders are being advised to voluntarily move to the approved site or face the consequences of their actions. The AMA is preparing to launch a massive exercise to evict hawkers from the city in the coming days.
