AMA task force gets new uniforms

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) on Monday provided 60 new uniforms for members of its Task Force in Accra.

The apparel was the first batch of uniforms to be given to members of the Task Force.

Speaking at the ceremony in Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, Accra, said there have been allegations by the public against the Task Force for not performing the duties expected.

Mr Vanderpuije said the need to identify the Task Force with a uniform became necessary as a demonstration to the public of AMA’s commitment to ensure good sanitation and public safety.

He tasked members of the Task Force to live up to expectation in the discharge of their duties without fear or favour.

Mr Vanderpuije expressed the need for discipline to uphold the image of the Assembly.

He called on the public to report any act of misconduct by members of the Force in the discharge of their duties.

Mr Vanderpuije said efforts are being made to employ more persons into the Force to reduce the workload.
