AMA supports Osu fire victims

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has donated a number of food items and GH¢5,000.00 cash, to the families of the recent fire outbreak at Osu in Accra.

The items included two cartons each of milo, mackerels and corned beef, one bag of sugar, two gallons of vegetable oil, four bags of rice, two bag rice, two bags of maize and 10 cartons of water.

Dr Alfred Oko Vanderpuije who made the presentation, described the incident as unfortunate and disturbing, and extended AMA’s condolences to the parents of the two children who lost their lives in the course of the outbreak.

He said, “don’t over-mourn the dead, which may also have some effect on your health, but trust the Lord with all things that happen on your ways,” Dr Vanderpuije advised the families.

Nii Armah Ashietey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Korley Klottey, and a member of delegation, expressed sympathy with the families, and assured them of the Greater-Accra Regional Minister’s support for a befitting burial for the two children, Nancy Aryee and Edward Aryee who lost their lives.

He said Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, Greater-Accra Minister had earlier donated GH¢1,000.00 for the

upkeep of the surviving children and their parents.

Mr Samuel Nii Armah Mensah, Head of Nii Masosh We and Aryee families, expressed appreciation to government, for expressing commitment to assist the fire victims.
