AMA delays removal and evacuation of garbage

Accra, June 22, GNA – The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) on Thursday said there might be delays in the removal and evacuation of garbage in the next few days due to misunderstanding between AMA and the Oblogo Community.

A statement from the Public Relations Department of the AMA said Oblogo was the landfill site located for the dumping of refuse. It stated that all efforts were being made by the Mayor of Accra to restore normal refuse collection services in the city as soon as possible.

The statement appealed to all residents of Accra and the general public to bear with the AMA for the unforeseen situation.
