Alumni should support alma mater – Board Chairman

Kumasi, Aug 22, GNA – Mr Asare Yeboah, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School in Kumasi, has called on the alumni to join authorities of the school to mobilize resources for the development of the educational institution.

He said with a population of about 1,800, the school needed adequate classrooms and boarding facilities to ensure effective teaching and learning.

Mr Yeboah, who made the call at a meeting of the Board, in Kumasi, said that the Ghana Education Trust Fund was constructing a dormitory for the school and work on a six-unit classroom block would soon start.

He said that the Board would initiate more projects towards the development of the school.

Mr Yeboah expressed concern about the encroachment of the school land, which has left the school with limited land for expansion.

He said that only 53 acres of 140 acres of land belonging to the school was left due to encroachment, and called for comprehensive measures to solve the problem.
