AlRajhi schools received school material

Nsawam (E/R), Jan. 8, GNA – The Nsawam branch of Muslim Family Support Agency has donated 2500 exercise books, quantity of text books for the primary, pens and pencils worth more than five million cedis to the Al Rajhi Primary and junior secondary schools at Adoagyiri near Nsawam.

Alhaji Musah Zakari, president of the Eastern Region branch who presented the items on behalf of the Agency has also offered to provide school uniforms and footwear to two orphans in the primary department of the school.

He said the Agency saw the need to support, especially the vulnerable in society to attain some academic standards hence the importance it attaches to promoting education within the Muslim communities.

Mr. Peter Kofi Sasu the Adoagyiri circuit supervisor in the Akuapim South District, who thanked the Agency has called on the Muslim parents not to take advantage of the government capitation grant and shirk responsibility of educating their wards.

He said the government’s grant alone cannot provide the child’s needs, saying parents must complement government’s effort. Mr. Sasu encouraged parents to collaborate with teachers to work out modalities of having additional classes, which could help the child to complete the syllabuses on the subjects.

He said parents must, from time to time visit school their wards’ schools and corporate with the teachers to solve existing problems. Alhaji Mamudu Zakari the Assembly member of the area and Mr. Abu Alhassan the headmaster of the junior secondary department of the school who received the items on behalf of the schools thanked the Agency for the gesture.

Mr. Alhassan gave the assurance that the items would be put to good use.

The Assembly, who expressed satisfaction at the effort of the Agency, called on other Non- Governmental organizations to emulate the Agency and donate to raise the standard of learning in the school. Jan. 08 08
