Allocate part of poverty alleviation fund to poultry farmers.

Akropong (Ash), Dec 29, GNA- Mr Andrews Kofi Nti of Kofi Nti Farms, this year’s Atwima District best poultry farmer, has appealed to the Atwima District Assembly to allocate part of the funds for poverty alleviation to small-scale poultry farmers.

He said assistance to small-scale poultry farmers would enable them to increase production that could lead to the reduction of prices in poultry products.

Mr Nti, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Akropong suggested the construction of warehouses by the government in every district for poultry farmers to store their maize.

He also appealed to the government to assist poultry farmers by importing drugs to be sold to the farmers at cheaper prices. Mr Nti commended the government for recognising the important role every farmer played in the economic development of the country by rewarding them at the national farmers day.
