A 34 year old man, Isaac Sackey has surrendered himself to the Police after stabbing a Nigerian lady to death in his home at Spintex, in Accra.
He inflicted knife wounds on the face and stomach of the lady whose name is only given as Tina.
The Gt. Accra Police Command said a confrontation broke between the two when the lady took GHS 120 from him after they’ve had a good time together.
Narrating the incident to Kasapa FM, the Accra Police PRO, ASP Afia Tenge said the deceased is alleged to have threatened to stab Isaac, but rather ended up being stabbed with her own knife in the brawl that ensued between them.
“The suspect lives in a single room in some compound house at Spintex. In the course of the confrontation the lady took a kitchen knife from the man’s room and threatened to stab him. But the man overpowered the lady and incidentally stabbed her, after he managed to take back the knife from the lady,” she said.
It has even emerged from the police investigations that the suspect is a psychiatric patient who normally goes for periodic medical check ups, but the Police is yet to cross-check that information, ASP Tenge told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa.
The suspect is being held by the Police pending further investigations.
