Alleged armed robber lynched at Fodoa

Nkawkaw, Jan. 24, GNA – A member of a gang of five suspected armed robbers who attacked and robbed a fuel station has been lynched at Fodoa in the Kwahu West District.
The mob also vandalised an Opel Ascona saloon car with registration number GR 7746 J the robbers used in the operation.
The robbers shot and killed one Yaw Obeng who confronted them at the fuel station and took away 1.7 million cedis and three mobile phones.
The Nkawkaw District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police Christopher Klomegah, said the robbers attacked the three attendants at the fuel station on Tuesday night with guns and locked them up in a room before ransacking the station.
He said when people heard of the attack they rushed to the fuel station and attacked the robbers. They killed one of them and the rest fled into the bush.
Mr Klomegah said a search party was assisting the Police to arrest the other robbers.
