Painstaking investigations conducted by *The True Statesman* newspaper indicates that the allegation of embezzlement of party cash meant for the just ended biometric registration exercise by the greater regional chairman of the NDC, Mr Kobbina Ade Coker is unfounded.
A report published by the Publisher newspaper on Wednesday captioned: Ade Coker Blows Party Cash, asked to vomit 2.1 billion cedis, accused Mr. Coker for failing to account for an amount of 270, 000 Ghana cedis he received on behalf of his region from the Electoral Directorate of the NDC with an agreement that he would disburse the amount equally among the 27 constituencies in the Greater Accra region for the biometric registration exercise.
However, our investigations revealed that certain unseen hands who have lost parliamentary primaries in the Greater Accra Region and have subsequently blame it on the regional executives are behind these unfounded allegations.
These loosing parliamentary candidates in the Greater Accra Region have not forgiven the regional executives since the primaries because they believe the regional executives have a hand in their loss.
Mr. Ade Coker has never embezzled any 2.1 billion cedis as it has been alleged. Indeed, the electoral directorate of the NDC has not given any money that has been miss-applied.
Money given for the biometric registration was duly disbursed and accounts rendered.
Mr. Ade Coker himself has rubbished the allegation and emphasized that as a regional chairman, he is not in charge of handling money, adding that there are structures in the party that handle funds.
“What the paper wrote is a lie, nothing has taken place,” Mr. Coker said.
