All the three women candidates fail in the DLE at Jomoro

Jomoro, Jan 5, GNA – All the three women candidates in the District Level Elections in the Jomoro District failed lost. They are Madam Victoria Nyanzu, Grace Blay and Victoria Ocran of New Kabenle Suazo, Bonyire-Akrasuazo and Beyin electoral areas respectively. This is the first time women contested in the district and this is due to education by non-governmental organizations.

Women in Law and Development of Africa (WILDAF) organized workshops for women in the Jomoro District where a coalition was formed to canvass vote for women.

Mrs. Gifty Erzuah-Bebodu, Jomoro District Coalition of Women in Governance, said she was not happy about the situation but expressed the hope that women would make it in future elections.
