Moree (C/R), Jan 17, GNA – The Rt Rev Isaac Quansah, the Cape Coast Diocesan Bishop of the Methodist Church, has said the country needed communal spirited individuals who are ready to serve their community to help accelerate development.

He said any little contribution, especially towards education to help the education of the poor in society “some of whom will grow into prominent citizens who will in turn assist their communities”. Rt Rev. Quansah was speaking at the inauguration of a 12- million-cedi school building for the Moree Methodist Kindergarten, at Moree in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District on Monday. The church and some individuals including Mr Michael Essandoh, regional coordinating director and the assemblyman for the area, Mr Kofi Fleischer, financed it.

Mr Andrew Mensah, the MP for the area, said it was wrong for parents to entrust the upbringing of their wards solely to teachers. He promised to set aside five per cent of his MP’s fund to support education.
