Aliu Mahama mourns Chief of Staff

Jamasi (Ash), June 21, GNA- Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, on Saturday led a high-powered government delegation to the funeral of Opanin Okyere Akosah, father of Mr Kwadwo Okyere Mpiani, Chief of Staff at Jamasi-Ashanti.

Other members of the delegation were, the first Lady, Mrs Theresah Kufuor, Dr Kwame Addo-Kufuor, Defence Minister, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, Minister of Regional Co-operation and NEPAD and Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, Minister of Energy.

The rest were Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Mr Albert Kan-Dapaah, Minister of Communications and Technology and Dr Kwaku Afriyie, Minister of Health. Odeneho Gyapong Ababio, President of the National House of Chiefs, District Chief Executives, and politicians were among the thousands of mourners.

The delegation donated 60 million cedis and assorted drinks to the bereaved family.

Opanin Akosah, 95, died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi on February 23, this year and was buried on Thursday, June 17 at Jamasi-Ashanti.

He left behind a widow, Mrs Anna Okyere Akosah.
