Algerian President congratulates Ghanaian President-elect

The President of Algeria, Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Friday congratulated President John Dramani Mahama for his electoral victory on December 7.

In a congratulatory message to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, he stated: “On the occasion of your election to the highest office of the Republic of Ghana, it is my greatest pleasure to address to you, on behalf of the Government and Algerian people, and on my own behalf my warmest congratulations and best wishes of success in your endeavour to serve the sister people of Ghana.

“I would like to seize this opportunity to reiterate my willingness to work with you towards the consolidation of our mutual cooperation with the view to strengthening the ties of fraternity that unite our two countries and which allow them to profit from the huge potentials of their respective economies.

“By so doing we will contribute towards the achievement of the objectives of development and integration of the African Union.

“While congratulating you once again, please accept Mr President and dear brother, the assurance of my highest consideration,” he said.
