Alfred Woyome succumbs to PAC; appears tomorrow

Embattled Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome will finally appear before the Public Accounts Committee tomorrow, Wednesday September 12, to answer questions on the GH¢52 million judgment debt saga.

Aide to Mr. Woyome, Kwame Tawiah in an interview with XYZ News confirmed that Mr Woyome would make the appearance after turning down earlier invitations to appear before the committee.

Mr. Woyome who is currently standing trial for the controversial GH¢52 million judgment debt paid him, had earlier declined on two occasions to appear before the commission chaired by Albert Kan Dapaah.

His recent decision not to appear before the commission angered the chairman who threatened to ask the Inspector General of Police to arrest Mr. Woyome and drag him before the commission.

Speaking to XYZ News, Kwame Tawiah stated that Mr. Woyome received another invitation last week to appear before the commission. He also added that the embattled businessman decided to appear due to several calls on him to do so and put the matter to rest.

Former Attorney General Betty Mould Iddrisu has already appeared before the commission to answer questions on her alleged involvement in the payment of the 52 million Ghana cedis to Mr. Woyome.
