Alan receives overwhelming endorsement at Ada

Ada (G/A), March 31, GNA – Mr Alan Kyerematen, a presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Tuesday took his campaign to three constituencies in the Greater Accra Region and received overwhelming endorsement from party members who said without him 2012 would elude the NPP.

Mr Kyerematen addressed six gatherings, two in each in Ada, Sege and Prampram.

At Adafoah Clinic Junction, which was Mr Kyerematen’s first point of call, he was met by an enthusiastic crowd of party supporters comprising constituency and polling station executives and walked about half a kilometre to the venue that filled to capacity.

There was nearly a stampede at the Saint Peter Claver’s Catholic Church auditorium, venue for the event, compelling local party leaders to withdraw some of the people from the hall and prevented others from entering. Mr Kyerematen reiterated his call on delegates to elect a candidate who would win not only votes of party members but also votes of floating voters who are the kingmakers in elections.

He told party members that wherever he went, people from even other political parties including the ruling National Democratic Congress indicated that they could vote for the NPP when it fielded him (Alan) as its presidential candidate.

Mr said time was running out, adding it would not be good if political power eluded the NPP in 2012 and called on the delegates to make the right choice during the party’s presidential primaries that would be held later this year or early 2011.

Mr Kyerematen was accompanied by Mr Kwabena Adjepong, former Press Secretary to former President JohnAgyekum Kufuor, Mr Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the Member of Parliament for Asokwa and Mr George Chika Benson, the former Upper West Regional Minister.

Mr Kyerematen will round off his campaign in the Greater Accra Region on Saturday after which he will move to the Ashanti Region for the next leg of the campaigns.
