Alan not perturbed by Osei Ameyaw’s withdrawal

A member of the Alan Kyeremanten campaign team, Hilda Addo, has played down the significance of the decision by Osei Ameyaw to withdraw from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race and throw his support behind Nana Akufo-Addo.

The NPP flagbearer aspirant, Osei Ameyaw announced his withdrawal from the race Thursday at a news conference.

Ameyaw becomes the second person to step down from the contest after the MP for Esikado-Ketan, Joe Ghartey withdrew a day after a mini delegates congress was held to reduce the number of aspirants from seven to five.

But Addo told Starr News that the Alan camp is not perturbed by the development, adding that Alan Kyeremanten would contest Nana Addo on October 18, no matter what happens.

Addo added that she suspects the decision by Ameyaw is being influenced by the call of some members of the Council of Elders of the party asking the other presidential hopefuls to step down and allow Nana Addo to go unopposed.
