Akwatia holds thanksgiving service to mark Golden Jubilee

Akwatia, March 22, GNA – The Akwatia District Pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church, Rev. Joseph Tetteh has urged Ghanaians not to allow themselves to be divided by politics but see themselves as one people living in one country with one destiny in spite of their political differences He was delivering the sermon at a non-denominational thanksgiving

church service held at Akwatia as part of the celebration of the country’s golden jubilee .

The service was organized by the Akwatia Local Council of Churches to give thanks to God for bringing the country thus far in peace. The worshippers prayed for the leadership of the nation to be blessed with divine wisdom and ability to successfully steer the affairs of the nation. They also prayed for unity, love and brotherhood among the people, for economic growth of the nation and for prosperity and happiness of the people.

Rev. Tetteh urged Ghanaians to constantly pray for unity, progress and development of the nation.

He observed that, if Ghanaians lived in unity and peace and did away with acts that would breed strive and divisions, they would build a nation of prosperity and progress. The Akwatiahene, Osabarima Kofi Boateng, III, said the golden jubilee celebration should bring greater unity to the nation. He observed that a lot of issues were being politicized to the detriment of the nation, which would not contribute to national cohesion and development.

Osabarima Boateng called on Ghanaians to do away with partisanship and work together to move the nation forward.
