Akwatia fire causes extensive damage

Akwatia, Feb 09, GNA – Fire has gutted a house at Akwatia destroying all the personal belongings of a 30-year-old woman who is nursing three-month old twins. Miss Regina Adusei, her twin girls and her younger sister, Vida, were left with only the clothes hey had on. Miss Regina Ansah, a seamstress who occupying an adjoining room also had three sewing machines burnt when the fire destroyed her room. Volunteers battled the fire for about an hour before bringing it under control.

The Kwaebibirem District Chief Executive, Mr Yiadom Boakye, visited the victims and officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) also visited the site to assess the cost of damage.
