Akufo-Addo’s first year performance is unparalleled in our history – Davis Opoku

President Akufo Addo’s achievement in his first year of his first term is amazing and so far, I have not seen nor heard of any such in our political history, Davis Opoku Ansah of AFAG has revealed.

Davis Opoku Ansah asserted that the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo may have to launch a new manifesto by the year 2019 to complete his first term because virtually all his major promises are being implemented.

According to the youth activist of the NPP, popularly known in the political circles as OPK, the President has demonstrated that it is not politics as usual and he is determined to leave a positive footprint.

The Director of Operations for AFAG made these statements on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show hosted Kwame Afrifa Mensah on Accra-based Happy FM.

He touched on the implementation of the Free SHS and the sudden revival of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

“The President’s commitment to paying the over 10 months arrears to service providers under the near collapsing NHIS has resuscitated the scheme and ordinary Ghanaians are today enjoying better health care”, he said.

“It started with the free senior secondary programme; and then came the implementation of the one –district-one factory policy, paperless at the ports and now reduction of electricity tariffs”, he added.

While appreciating the few challenges that come with transitioning from one government to another, OPK believes Nana Addo deserves commendation on the stability of the economy.

He touched on the projected GDP growth of 7.9% as unprecedented and believes the long term effect of the paperless program will help fund pro-poor programs of the NPP government.
