Akufo-Addo winning by 53% – Asabee

A former Minister of Information Stephen Asamoah Boateng has predicted Nana Akufo-Addo is going to win the 2016 elections by 53%.

Nana Addo, who is eyeing the presidency for the third time running, is contesting incumbent President John Mahama for the second time after losing in the 2012 presidential elections.

Speaking on Starr Chat, Wednesday, Mr. Boateng said his prediction is divine.

“Nana Addo is winning by 53%,” the former Local Government Minister told host Bola Ray.

“God’s words to me is true. I saw a 45% somewhere and 2% somewhere.”

He said Nana Addo has proven himself and is the suitable candidate among the rest to transform Ghana hence Ghanaians must give him the mandate.

Touching on reported cases of factions within the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition, Mr. Boateng confirmed “there are groupings within the NPP,” but said he “believes in president [J.A] Kufuor.”

Meanwhile, he has called on NPP members and the executives to unite ahead of the 2016 elections to wrestle power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“I want to plead with Afoko, Kwabena Agyepong and Sammy Crabbe to return… We have to win this election because the NPP can do a better job than what the NDC is doing,” Asabee, as he is affectionately called, said.

Mr. Boateng was born on August 18, 1958 at Konongo in the Ashanti region. He attended the Konongo Methodist Primary and the Kormantse District Assembly Middle Schools.

He obtained his first degree at the University of Ghana, Legon. He holds a Masters degree from the Henley Management College, Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom.
