Akufo-Addo will run from any debate – Sam George

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George Nartey, has disclosed that a debate between President John Dramani Mahama and Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, will expose the flaws and ill-preparedness of the later, hence his reluctance to accept a challenge to debate.

He believes the impending elections will be about track records of the two main political parties- NPP and NDC and that “NPP’s message which Nana Addo is selling on the back of the previous government does not match what the NDC has done under President Mahama”.

“Current facts in the country is in favour of President Mahama so a one-on-one debate between him and President Mahama will expose his ill preparedness and put the President in an unavailable position”, Sam George told myradio360 in an exclusive interview.

Touching on the education sector, the Ningo- Prampram PC indicated that the NPP, in its 8 years only built 218 new basic schools but the NDC has put up 1, 800 basic schools, 70 Senior High Schools and 2 public universities.

Sam George pointed out that the NDC has built one (1) new medical facility, four (4) regional hospital, three (3) institutional hospital, 31 district hospitals and many more, but the NPP did only eight (8) new district hospitals and some CHIPS compound.

He said the NDC has added 18 percent of portable water, 30 percent of power to the national grid, constructed 4, 800 kilometers of road, upgraded two airports to international status and built another one at the Volta region while the NPP did 4 percent of portable water, 6 percent of power to national grid and constructed 1, 700 kilometers of roads.

After making all the comparisons, Sam George, also a Presidential Staffer noted that the NDC economy stands superior in its history and achievement, a situation that prompted him to ask how the NPP presidential candidate can debate President Mahama with those ‘glaring’ figures and a robust economy.

“Nana Addo will definitely run from the IEA debate and any debate because President Mahama will win and proceed to win the elections”, he posited.
He stated that if the NPP presidential candidate believes he has a message to win the elections, he should accept to debate the President and make it clear to the public.

Sam George then urged Ghanaian electorates to maintain the President, given that he has the safest pair of hands with an experience of leading a nation and a message of hope for Ghana.
