Akufo-Addo Takes Over Accra

The capital city and its business districts were taken over today by the 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, as he continues his “hope restoration” tour of the Greater Accra region.

On Monday when the NPP flagbearer toured the Klottey Korle constituency, the crowds were uncontrollable, with scores of people receiving the NPP leader with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm.

The message from the people was simple: “We will vote for Nana for free education so that our children can go to school.”

In several places, the chorus that greeted Nana Addo was “Free education! Free education!”

Nana Addo walked through the streets in the central business district attracting several hundreds of people wherever he goes. He moved from Asylum Down, to Obra Spot through the Pedestrian Mall, Odawnaa garage, CMB, Tudu, Tema station, Art Centre and Osu.

The people, who interacted with the Nana Addo, did not hesitate to express their frustration with the Mahama-Amissah Arthur-led National Democratic Congress government.

A trader, Serwaa, said “We are worried about the levels of corruption in this NDC government and we will peacefully retire them in December. The economic situation in the country is getting worse by the day and this government does not seem to have answers to this situation.”

On Sunday, Nana Addo toured the Adenta constituency attracting large crowds who gathered to listen to his message of hope.

Nana Addo continues to reiterate his commitment to providing free senior high school education for all.

“I have been travelling around the country for the past two years and one thing that worries me is the high level of unemployment amongst our youth. We will expand the Ghanaian economy to help create more sustainable jobs for the youth and people of our country “, Nana Addo said.

The NPP leader also assured that if God willing, and the Ghanaian people consenting he becomes president, the National Health Insurance Scheme will be revived and strengthened to help deliver quality and accessible healthcare for the people.
