Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Candidate, has appealed to eligible voters to register when Electoral Commission (EC) opens the voters register for biometric registration.
He said Ghanaians can change their government only through voting and this could be done when they have registered and participated in the election.
Nana Akufo-Addo gave the advice when he addressed a mini rally at Gomoa Afransi and Gomoa Benso as part of his Listening Campaign Tour in the Gomoa East Constituency of Central Region.
He told the people that, “without a voter’s Identification Card (ID Card) you cannot cast your vote, therefore, would be prevented from exercising your democratic right.”
The Presidential Candidate was accompanied by Mr Boakye Agyarko, Campaign Manager, Lord Commey, Operational Manager, and the Central Regional and Gomoa East Constituency Executives of the party.
Earlier, Nana Akufo-Addo and his entourage on Sunday joined the congregations of Gomoa Aseibu, Gomoa Ekwamkrom and Gomoa Benso Methodist Churches for their services.
He declared that a team of experts would soon complete the party’s Manifesto, which would serve as a guide when the party wins the 2012 elections.
Nana Akufo-Addo also paid courtesy calls on Nana Ogyedom Obrenu Kwesi Atta V, Chief of Gomoa Afransi and other Divisional Chiefs in the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area at Afransi.
He pointed out that the manifesto would address concerns on education, health, roads, sanitation, the environment, Employment and the economy.
Nana Akufo-Addo repeated that when Ghanaians offer him the power in the 2012 elections, education would be free from Kindergarten (KG) to Senior High School (SSS) as promised in the 2008 electioneering Campaign.
The NPP’s Presidential Candidate said the new education policy would have secondary, vocational and technical schools to enable students to acquire skills to assist them become self-reliant.
He said the National Youth Employment Programme would be expanded to absorb more youth.
