Akufo-Addo suspends campaign ahead of voters’ registration exercise

Two-time Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has put his nationwide campaign on hold ahead of the voters’ registration exercise scheduled to be carried out from Monday, August 4 to Wednesday, August 13.

“This is to enable polling station, and constituency party executives remain focused ahead of this exercise,” a statement issued by Nana Addo office said.

Nana Addo launched his campaign last Tuesday, July 29 and has since campaigned in the three northern regions.

He was scheduled to be in the Brong Ahafo, Ashanti, Eastern and Volta regions from August 3 to August 10.

“Campaigning in these regions have, therefore, been rescheduled, and the new dates communicated to the regions,” the statement signed by Francis Asenso-Boakye, Nana Addo’s Political Assistant, on Friday, August 1 indicated.

Nana Addo will resume campaign on Thursday, August 14 in the Eastern Region ahead of NPP’s special congress on August 31.
