Akufo-Addo sidelining Alan Kyerematen – Group

A pressure group Young Democrats has alleged that the Akufo-Addo government has sidelined Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kyerematen.

It cited the non-involvement of Mr. Kyerematen in government’s engagement with the Chinese for the $15 billion facility to back their claim.

Also, the group stated that arrangement announced by the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia after his trip to China will not be in the interest of the country.

Speaking to Starr News, convener for the group, Dr. Luther King argued that leveraging of the country’s resources especially bauxite for the aid is disastrous.

He said “we want to industrialize and we have employed the Minister of Trade and Industry [Alan Kyeremanteng] to lead that drive. But he is sidelined.”

Asked what the basis for his claims is, Dr. King replied by asking rhetorically why did Dr. Bawumia embarked on the China trip without Mr. Kyerematen when the deals that was agreed on directly affect the latter’s ministry.
