Akufo-Addo sends best wishes to all Muslims

This is to congratulate all Muslims across the country for a successful completion of the month long Ramadan fast. On behalf of my wife Rebecca and myself, I send you best wishes, and by extension all Muslims across the world, as you celebrate the annual Eid ul-Fitr festival on Monday, August 28.

The Eid ul-Fitr celebration commemorates the end of Ramadan, a period of intense devotion and reflection – a time when Muslims have devoted themselves entirely to the will of Allah and to the principles and tenets of the Qu’ran and Sunnah.

I believe that this intense period of devotion has inspired in Muslims a commitment not only to God but also to country.

The intense flow of Barakat (divine grace) that this one month of spiritual exercise has engendered must trigger a respect for neighbour and country that will enable us all, as God’s servants, to join hands in the difficult task of nation building.

I urge all Muslims to continue to demonstrate, continually, a sense of unity and oneness in the years ahead.

Once again, I am privileged to join many other Ghanaians in wishing you all a happy Eid ul-Fitr celebration. Baraka Da Salla!
