Akufo-Addo returns home

Two-time flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo arrived from the United Kingdom on Wednesday, March 5 after spending almost half a year outside Ghana.

Nana Addo left Ghana on Sunday, September 15, 2013, a couple of weeks after losing a petition that challenged results of the 2012 Presidential Elections.

Making a short address at the Kotoka International Airport upon his arrival, Nana Addo acknowledged the “love” shown him by his followers.

He indicated that he went to seek the face of God over his political future, as announced before his departure.

Speaking in Akan, Nana Addo said God has given him an answer, and he will make that known to leadership of his party in a special meeting.

He added that he will let supporters know about the outcome of that meeting.

Nana Addo made his first official appearance on Monday, March 3, when he addressed a gathering at the University of London’s Brunei Institute, SOAS.
