Opposition presidential hopeful, Nana Akufo-Addo says the forthcoming presidential primaries of his party are not foregone victories for neither him nor any of the other candidates.
A Special Electoral College of about 800 will first whittle down the seven aspirants to five as stipulated by the party’s Constitution in a mini primary.
The last pack will then be part of the grand primary scheduled for October 18, which has an Electoral College of almost 115,000.
The two-time presidential candidate of Ghana’s main opposition New Patriotic Party told private Radio station Asempa FM that the race to choose one out of the seven ahead of the 2016 general elections will only be a foregone conclusion after the entire process.
The six others include: two former trade Ministers Alan Kyeremanten and Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku; former information Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng; former Attorney General Joe Ghartey; as well as MPs Osei Ameyaw and Francis Addai Nimoh.
