Akufo-Addo must apologize to Ghanaians – NDC Activists

Mr. Stephen Ashietey Adjei, a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tema East Constituency on Wednesday called on Nana Akufo-Addo, Flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party to apologize to Ghanaians for having double stance on the judgment debt issues.

He said, “Even though Akufo-Addo has said that under his leadership no judgment debts will be paid, he secretly writes letter advocating that judgment debts should be paid.”

Mr. Ashietey Adjei, who is popularly known as Moshake, said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.

Referring to an earlier press conference organized by the Ministry of information, Mr. Ashietey Adjei said Nana Addo wrote a letter on October 3, 2011, claiming that it would be unconscionable on the part of the government to defeat legitimate claims of its creditors.

However, Nana Addo had also condemned the government for paying judgment debts.

He said as one who wants to lead this country it was unfair for Nana Addo to demonstrate such double standards, stressing that Ghanaians need to have a leader who is not double minded.

Mr. Ashietey Adjei therefore said it was necessary for Nana Addo to render an unqualified apology to Ghanaians in that respect and further advised him to quit politics entirely.**
