Akufo-Addo mourns victims of Kintampo crash

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed his condolences to the families who “lost loved ones” in the gruesome Kintampo – Tamale highway crash.

Over 50 people have been confirmed dead after a truck-load of tomatoes collided with a Metro Mass Transit bus near the Kintampo Waterfalls junction on Wednesday evening.

Several of the passengers with severed body parts were trapped in the mangled bus as the locals struggled to cut open the vehicles to retrieve the dead and those alive.

Akufo-Addo tweeted about the incident the day after, describing it as “sad.”
The locals who had to resort to chainsaws to cut the bus in order to reach the trapped passengers believe all the occupants of the Metro Mass perished.
