Akufo-Addo leaves for Libya

Accra, June 28, GNA – Nana Akufo-Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs leaves Accra tonight for Libya to attend the 7th Ordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council, which comes off from June 28 to 29, this year.

A statement signed by Mr Michael Ofori-Atta, Public Relations Officer of the Ministry said the meeting would precede the 5th Ordinary Session of Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

The meeting will consider, among other issues, the Report of the Peace and Security Council on its activities as well as the state of peace and security of Africa, the Millennium Development Goals and the Merger of the AU Court on human and people’s rights and the Court of Justice of the AU.

The statement said after the summit, which would end on July 5, Nana Akufo-Addo would travel to Scotland to attend the G8 Summit at Gleneagles on July 6 to 8.
