Akufo-Addo is Ghana’s new Kwame Nkrumah – Mugabe

Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe has hailed Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the new Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana.

Addressing the media Tuesday at the Tang Palace in Accra, the 93-year-old President said he was highly inspired by Akufo-Addo’s speech during the Ghana@60 anniversary at the Independence Square Monday.

Mugabe who is in Ghana for the Ghana@60 celebrations said he learnt a lot from Ghana and Kwame Nkrumah during the revolutionary days.

The President of the South African nation who has ruled for 30 years also called for more economic partnership between his country and Ghana.

President Mugabe was recently in Singapore for a “medical review”.

President Mugabe, who celebrated his 93rd birthday at a lavish ceremony in Harare last week, left the country on Tuesday morning.
