Akufo-Addo is a “dead okro” – Kofi Adams

The National Organiser of the ruling National Democratic Congress Kofi Adams has said the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo cannot be trusted with the destiny of the country.

According to Adams, the former Attorney General is “divisive” and has shown qualities of a bad leader since he took over the leadership of the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition.

Addressing supporters of the NDC in Tamale in the Northern region, the former deputy general secretary of the umbrella family urged Ghanaians to retain President John Mahama come November because he is youthful.

“When I say President Mahama is a fresh okro and Akuffo Addo is a failed dead okro, I will tell you why; even President Kufour himself who knew the people he was working with never supported Akufo-Addo in 2007, he never did…It will be a monumental mistake to entrust the destiny of this country into Akufo-Addo’s hands” he stated.

The Tamale event saw a massive attendance of the party youth from all the constituencies in the region. In attendance also, was the National Youth Organiser of the party, Abubakari Siidi.

For his part, the Northern regional youth organiser of the NDC Alhaji Mohammed Amin Adam-Abio charged the youth to campaign beyond their comfort zones

“The work is not about inviting constituency executives to a meeting in Tamale, the work is beyond that; it is about reaching out to the people at the grassroot level in their various constituencies for as to work, let’s go to the bush and work, the votes are in the various electoral areas”.
