Akufo-Addo engaging in ‘sakawa’ governance – NDC

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has given its version of the 6-month administration of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo.

According to its National Chairman, Kofi Porturphy at a press conference at the party’s Headquarters in Accra on Thursday, the 6-month old government has been characterised by profligate spending, corruption, arrogance and lies.

“Arrogance, lies and dishonesty have become visible trademarks of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government,” he said.

He indicated that what is currently pertaining in the current administration is the direct opposite of what they promised Ghanaians prior to the 2016 elections.

“Contrary to the NPP’s promises to protect the public purse; president Akufo-Addo has done exactly the opposite.”

“We are demanding a full disclosure of how much money he takes as per diem for his numerous travels? Is it 4000 dollars or 5000 dollars as it is being rumoured?” he asked

The NDC leader revealed that his party will not sit on the fence while the country is being destroyed by the current government considering how things are happening

“NDC shall not sit and watch this dear nation of ours be destroyed” by an “embarrassing” NPP administration adding, “The least Akufo-Addo can do is to allow Ghanaians to suffer in peace and not in turmoil.”He stressed.
