Former Attorney General under the Kufuor Administration, Joseph Nii Ayikoi Otoo has urged Ghanaians to disregard what he describes as fabrications being circulated by the NDC government against the NPP Flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo.
Earlier this week, the Ga-Dangme traditional council called on all people of the descent to vote against the NPP Flagbearer who they said has trampled on their dignity and ethnic identity with impunity. They chided Akufo-Addo over claims that he will move the capital of Ghana from Accra to Kyebi, his hometown in the Eastern Region.
At a media briefing in Accra, Former Attorney General indicated that the claims are mere fabrications against Nana Addo by the NDC whose plan is to tarnish the image of the party through propaganda means. He added that the NPP Flagbearer who has a Ga descent will under no circumstance move the capital of Ghana to Kyebi contrary to what rumors suggest.
“Akufo-Addo is a thorough bred Ga, he was born in the very heart of Ga land in Sualaba, he lives in Nima, is married to a Ga woman, not even Mahama can claim to be more Ga Dangme than Akufo-Addo. It is completely false that he hates Ga Dangme’s…”
He urged all Ga Dangmes to rally after Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP in next week’s general elections to ensure the poor policies created under the NDC government are changed.
