Akufo-Addo consoles family of the late PV Obeng

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Monday, paid a visit to the wife, children and family of the late Mr. Paul Victor Obeng to commiserate with them on their loss.

Nana Addo, who arrived in Ghana on Sunday after chairing the Commonwealth Observer Mission for the just-ended elections in South Africa, explained to the family that he received the news of P.V Obeng’s death whilst he was in South Africa.

According to him, he was shocked and saddened by the news of P.V. Obeng’s passing, and thus deemed it fit to come in person and express his condolences to the family after his arrival into the country.

Nana Addo indicated that he maintained a good relationship with PV Obeng, despite the pair belonging to opposite sides of the political divide. He added that PV Obeng will be sorely missed by all, as his passing represents a big loss to the nation.

Nana Addo and members of his entourage also signed a book of condolence opened in memory of the late PV Obeng.

Nana Akufo-Addo was accompanied to the Tema residence of the late Chairman of the National Development and Planning Commission by Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Stanley Adjiri Blankson, Sheikh I.C. Quaye, Hackman Owusu Agyemang, Frema Opare Osei, Hon. Irene Naa Torshie Addo, Hon. Titus Glover, Hon. Adjoa Safo, Anthony Karbo, amongst others.
