Akufo-Addo commends Zoomlion boss; urges him to remain focused

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong to stay focused and deal with the controversies over his several business modules.

Addressing a gathering of Management and Staff of the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant and Waste Transfer Station as well as Chiefs and People of Adjen Kotoku during the second day of his three day working tour of the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Akufo Addo said it is only natural that when you are at the forefront of doing things, you will be the subject of controversy.

He encouraged the businessman to continue his good works across the country and redeem his image.

Dr. Siaw Agyepong in a brief statement said that the President’s visit to the integrated waste processing plant gives strong indication of his government’s commitment to employ science and technology to identify the most economic and efficient ways to recycle urban waste.

He added that the President’s vision of turning Accra into the cleanest city in Africa is Achievable.

He commended the President for creating a Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation to provide dedicated oversight responsibility nationwide on Sanitation issues.

He pledged that the Zoomlion Group is ready to partner all the relevant government agencies in diverse ways to help achieve and sustain the targets of making Accra the cleanest city in Africa.
