Akotsi-Bogyano (C/R), Nov. 12, GNA – The people of the Akotsi-Bogyano in the Central Region have constructed a new market complex estimated at nearly 200 million cedis through self-help. Nana Kojo Kuma, chief of the town commissioned the facility, which was named after one of their hard working chiefs, the late Nana Beesi-Ansah.
At the ceremony, Mr. Gyan Haffiss, leader of the Ahmaddiyya Moslem Mission in the town on behalf of the Ahmaddis in the area donated a 20-inch colour television set to the Akotsi-Bogyano Junior Secondary School.
The ceremony formed part of this year’s Akwambo festival of the chiefs and people of Akotsi-Bogyano. Mr. Haffiss said the gift was the nation’s contributions to the promotion of education in the town.
Nana Kojo Kuma praised members of the Ahmaddiyya movement in the community for the gesture and assured them that the equipment would be properly maintained to promote its life span.
He also thanked Abusuapayin Attoh-Brown and Mr. Kingsley Ahenful both opinion leaders of the town for successfully reactivating the Akotsi-Bogyano Town Improvement Association and hoped that the association would live up to expectation as far as the development of the community was concerned.
On their part, Abusuapayin Attoh-Brown and Mr. Ahenful pledged the association’s preparedness to co-operate fully with all stakeholders in the area to mobilise both manpower and other resources within their reach to enhance the growth of the community.
