Akotoshie Assemblyman appeals for school block

Amasaman (G/A), March 25, GNA- Mr. Kingsley Afedo, Assemblyman for Akotoshie Electoral area in the Ga District on Tuesday appealed to churches, companies and non-governmental organisations to assist the people to construct a permanent school block for the area. Mr Afedo said the area has two primary schools at Papaase and Akotoshie with over 70 JSS pupils who have their classes under trees and palm sheds. He said both pupils and teachers are forced to close classes whenever it rains, adding that the situation does not augur well for better teaching and learning in the area.

Mr. Agbowadzi Manase, Headteacher of Akotoshie primary school said despite the problem with school infrastructure, last term four JSS students from the area, were selected for the Coca Cola Essay Competition.

He stated that the children could do better if permanent school blocks were provided for them
