Akosa addresses potential delegates at Ho

Ho, Nov. 28, GNA – Professor Agyemang Badu Akosa, one of the Presidential aspirants of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), says he will repeat the Peoples National Party’s (PNP) 1979 unexpected presidential victory for the CPP in the 2008 elections. “I believe I have the spirit and favour to lead the CPP from nowhere to win the 2008 presidential elections as the PNP did in 1979”. Professor Akosa was addressing constituency executive members of CPP from Ho Central, Ho West and Ho East at Ho on Tuesday. He said there was an emerging excitement in the Party, adding that it was a sign of new things yet to happen to Ghanaians under a CPP leadership.

He therefore urged Ghanaians to vote for the CPP to “bring the political temperature in the country down”.

Professor Akosa said CPP was the only Party that could “save the Ghanaian from the present economic situations”, adding that his government would re-introduce workers brigade and other “people centred policies” for the socio-economic development of the individual. He wondered why Ghana, a rice producing country, should be importing rice and could not feed itself after 50 years and challenged Ghanaians to vote out the New Patriotic Party from office. Professor Akosa urged CPP delegates who will be voting at the Party’s primary mid-December this year to do so “judiciously” to sustain progress.

Alhaji Iddi Egala, a National Chairman Aspirant of the Party, appealed to delegates to the Congress to vote for him, adding that he would work hard to build structures from the grassroots.
