Akomea’s Kenkey Politics

AKOMEA LIES ABOUT PRICE OF KENKEY

Nana Akomea, the NPP’s Communications Director is rather a Miscommunication Director after all after being caught spewing another lie. This time, his gargantuan lie is that the price of kenkey under the Mills Administration is GH ¢1:00.

The Miscommunication Director spewed out the gargantuan lie last week during an interview with an Accra-based private radio station, Radio Gold. Immediately after the interview, caller after caller during the phone-in segment of the programme debunked the claim by Akomea, insisting that the price of kenkey is 40Gp and 50Gp respectively.

Yesterday, on the radio station’s morning show, ‘The Power Drive’, reports filtering in from different parts of the country indicated that kenkey is selling at most at 50Gp and not GH¢1:00 as the Miscommunication Director alleges.

A reporter who went to Kyebi, hometown of NPP flag-bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo said kenkey in Kyebi was selling at 50Gp in spite of the fact that the price of maize in the market has shot up marginally because of poor rains last year.

A Cape Coaster who identified himself as an NPP supporter called in to say the price of kenkey in Cape Coast was 50Gp. He expressed anger at the lie Nana Akomea has churned out saying it will not help the NPP. A listener of the programme, obviously tickled at the lie the Miscommunication Director churned out, sarcastically held brief for him when he said he(Akomea) buys his kenkey at Rhapsodies at the Accra Shopping Mall and thus pays GH ¢1:00 for it.
