Ako Gunn challenges NPP on stone throwing claims

Communications member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ako Gunn has challenged the leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to produce video footages of the clashes in front of the residence of the presidential nominee of the NPP.

Mr Gunn has given the NPP a 48-hour period to produce the footages of NDC members throwing bottles and stones into Nana Addo Dankwa’s house or bury their heads in shame.

There has been counter accusations from both supporters of NDC and NPP on the skirmishes on Sunday during the President’s walk at Nima, Accra.

But speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, the member of the incarcerated Montie trio charged NPP to produce evidence to prove their claim or otherwise.

He said he would be shocked if the party turns round to claim the CCTV camera is not working.

‘We were halted by a ‘machoman’ to stop disturbing the household, so some of our supporters also started replying him angrily, he went inside and fired warning shots, people ran helter-skelter, so the supporters dispersed briefly, the police came to calm tensions down.

As to whether there were stone throwing or defacing of posters or pictures, I didn’t see. We were preventing people from entering that area, NDC protected Nana Addo’s house from any attack. If the NPP do not want to be tagged liars or nation wreckers, they should save their faces by providing the footages indicating that people threw stones. They have CCTV Cameras around the house, so we are giving them 48-hours to produce evidence, for Ghanaians to make their own deductions as to which party is telling lies or not, videos and pictures don’t lie,’ he warned.

He threatened to expose the NPP and Nana Addo of hoarding guns and ammunition if they fail to produce the video footages.
