Akim Swedru Police receives donation

The Akim Bosome Rural Bank has donated items worth GH¢5,540 to the Akim Swedru Police to facilitate their operations.

They are five continental 16 rim car tyres to facilitate their patrols and 20 bags of cement to support the construction of their garage.

Mr Edwin Ebo Quartey, General Manager of the Bank told Ghana News Agency that the donation forms part of the bank’s corporate and social responsibilities to the Police.

He said the bank has assisted in students’ education, health service delivery among others.

Superintendent Richard Gyebi, Akim Swedru District Police Commander who received the materials expressed gratitude for the bank’s generosity to the service.

He gave the assurance that the donation would be felt in the district and the nation as whole to reduce crime in the society.

Supt Gyebi disclosed that in 2014 the police recorded 516 cases as against 379 in 2015 and called on the citizens to support the personnel by giving out information on criminal activities.
